KASEC celebrates those employees with longevity of service within its organization. Each year we recognize those staff members who have contributed five (5), ten (10), fifteen (15), twenty (20), twenty-five (25), thirty (30) or thirty-five (35) years of continued service with KASEC.
2023-2024 KASEC Stars are...
Kathleen Bloomquist is celebrating 5 years with KASEC. KASEC is very lucky to have Ms. Bloomquist on staff as the Middle School Teacher in the Alternative Day Program. She was the recipient of the 2021 "Special Educator of the Year" from the Kankakee Area Special Educators Symposium through Olivet Nazarene University. She teaches with positivity and humor leading to great rapport with her students. Thank you, Kathleen, for your commitment to your students and KASEC's Alternative Day Program!
Amanda Laney is also celebrating 5 years with KASEC. Ms. Laney is a paraprofessional in the Elementary classroom of the Alternative Day Program. Ms. Laney is an organized, creative and get-it-done kind of employee. She has built great rapport with our students and is an appreciated staff team player. She is always willing to lend a hand and volunteers to help out with special projects. Ms. Laney is highly motivated and is currently taking classes toward her teaching degree. We wish her well in her studies! Thank you, Amanda, for helping our Alternative Day Program students reach their highest potential!
Kori Giacometti is celebrating 15 years with KASEC. Ms. Giacometti is the Program Administrator for KASEC's Alternative Day Program and oversees all of its day-to-day operations. She is our certified Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Trainer and is responsible for making sure all staff keep up to date on their verbal de-escalation and physical restraint training. Ms. Giacometti is a extremely valued KASEC team member who has a lot of responsibility leading the largest program in our organization. Her knowledge of behaviors and behavior management are second to none! KASEC is fortunate Ms. Giacometti continues to call KASEC "home!" Thank you, Kori, for your long tenure!
